People may think that doing an interview for magazines is easy, but it is a lot more complicated than you would think. Ever since I first started writing for hTM a couple months ago I have realized that there is a lot to the interview process. Of which includes,
- Contacting the interviewee
- Talking to them
- Getting their bio
- Asking for and receiving photos
- Getting photographer, HMUA and outfit credits
- Photo releases
- Lastly, writing and organizing the interview.
Over the last few months of writing for hTM I have learned what to do and what not to do when writing the interviews. I have also learned how I can make my interviews better. I know you might not think that there is a right way and a wrong way to write an interview but there is. When writing an interview you need to make sure you get all the information right and organize it the right way, you also need to make sure you know the right questions to ask so you can get information about who they are as a person and what makes them so special.
During my recent interview with Raelynn Stueber whom I am good friends with, I got to learn a lot more about the way she thinks and how she feels about fashion. I also got to learn about some of the things she does during her free time.
Interviewing really helps you understand person better. It also helps with the interviewer and interviewees career
